We left Prague at 8.00 am by bus to travel to Budapest to finally meet Ruby - our beautiful Scenic Boat. First we had to endure 6 hours on the road - not always very smooth - although the countryside was very beautiful with many bright coloured canola fields and luscious green fields everywhere. We stopped twice on the way to stretch and eat and came upon Ruby moored on the Danube River in the middle of Prague ready to offer a welcome fit for anyone.
Everything is beautifully done - even a large yellow thornless rose for each lady on boarding the boat, with the crew all lined up offering a warm welcome, plus a washer to freshen up and a cool drink thrust into our hands. It was wonderful to have a real home again and we unpacked with glee at the thought of actually opening a drawer to find our underwear and socks after our shower. Then there was the luxurious bath robe waiting on the bed!
After dinner which was a Hungarian Buffet we had more folk dancers to entertain us this evening - this time Hungarian Gypsies - Later we went up on the deck to take photos of Buda & Pest all lit up on either side of the river. It looked very beautiful.
